Hello, welcome to our class page. Please click on the pictures or links to find out more about recent events, what we are currently learning, and for some useful resources you can access from home.
This term so far Class One have been working on the theme of: ‘Where in the World Are We?’ They have ‘used simple fieldwork and observational skills to study the geography of their school and its grounds and the key human and physical features of its surrounding environment’ (National Curriculum 2014), exploring maps and photographs, and looking for village features on their walks.
The children have written about where they live; built villages and towns – noting the main differences; created giant maps and designed their own village maps, including some features they have observed.
This has linked with their Science work, as they have looked for evidence of Autumn and the changing seasons. Conkers have provided seasonal counters for our Maths, with the children counting them out in groups and rolling them along number lines.
(Next term’s theme: ‘Have you Heard the News?’ – linking to our Nativity performance which will take place on 6th December 2017)
Thank you to:
Ms Bowen, Mrs Nesling and Mrs Bishop for hearing readers.
Mrs Miller and Mrs Rowan for supporting Class 1 children with their computer skills.
