Bedfield School was founded in 1884 by the landowners of the village under the leadership of the Rev John Day who was a philanthropist of his time.
In 2014 the pupils, staff, parents and community members celebrated the School's centenary. We re-enacted the parade from the school to St Nicholas Church led by the Rev Day and the Bishop of Norwich.
The school has had three extensions to accomodate the growing roll in recent years. In 2001 there was a new classroom built for the Key Stage One and Early years pupils. In 2005 we had the addition of a front entrance and two offices and in 2007 a new Key Stage Two classroom.
We also have an outdoor classroom, The Gazebo which can be used both as a play space and teaching area, ideal for group work on warm days. Our school garden includes a bird hide and greenhouse to encourage outdoor learning and we have a trim trail and other equipment for energetic play.
