Welcome Letter from the Headteacher

Welcome to Bedfield Church of England Primary School. We are a small, rural village school situated close to the market town of Framlingham and in the Debenham High School catchment area. Bedfield CEVC Primary is a friendly school, set in a warm, caring community. We are proud of all our lovely learners and help them to achieve their goals, face new challenges and know that success is within their reach; they just need to believe in themselves and put in their best effort. All adults work hard to help the children develop to their full potential. We recognise that every child is unique and we encourage them to be resilient learners, who know that mistakes are part of learning and believe in ‘The Power of Yet’ (click here) to see the TED talk on this, by Carol Dweck. Our Golden Awards, given out during Friday Assembly, tend to focus on effort, resilience and perseverance rather than solely focusing on outcomes.

If you have a child approaching school age, you are very welcome to bring them to our Friday Afternoon Stay and Play session (1.45pm – 2.45pm). This is a session where parents bring their pre-school children into Class 1 and join in with their play. Our Reception and Year 1 pupils look forward to seeing the younger children when they visit and always greet them warmly. It’s a great way for the children to become familiar with our school environment and get to know everyone.

We are happy to show families round the school at any time of the year. Please phone the school office if you would like to make an appointment.

Kind regards,

Martine Sills
