Computing at Bedfield
Computing: Coding
We use ICT and computing as a tool to enhance learning throughout the curriculum. Our goal is to equip pupils with the confidence and capability to use ICT and computing as it is an essential part of their daily lives. We work to ensure that we develop children’s understanding of how to use ICT safely and responsibly. We teach children to be able to use a range of technological devices, to be safe and interact responsibly online. Children are taught to research using search engines as well as input, edit and analyse data. Children learn to present information effectively, programme and code.
Over time, children will be able understand and apply the fundamental principles of computer science, including logic, algorithms, data representation, and communication. They can analyse problems in computational terms and have repeated practical experience of writing computer programs in order to solve problems. Ultimately we want to support children to become responsible, competent, confident and creative users of information and communication technology.
