Governors

The role of our Governing Body is:

“to conduct the school with a view to promoting high standards of educational achievement”.

The Governing Body has three core functions:

  1. Setting our school's ethos, vision and long term strategic direction.
  2. Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of our school and its pupils.
  3. Overseeing the school's finances and ensuring that money is well spent.

A key focus of the Governing Body is on school improvement. The Governing Body agrees the school improvement strategy and monitors and evaluates progress towards the targets that have been set. Once a term, the Governing Body provides a Termly Report to share with parents some of the key issues and decisions being considered by the Governing Body.

The Governing Body is not involved in the day-to-day running and management of the school. This is the job of the headteacher.

Termly meetings, coupled with frequent visits, mean that the Governors are able to carry out their responsibilities.

All Governors are willing to be approached by any parent who feels that they would like to speak about school matters.

Our Chair of Governors is Mrs. Janine Wright you can contact Janine via the following email address janine.wright@wvcpschool.com
