Welcome to Bedfield Church of England Primary School

Together, the children, staff and governing body of Bedfield C of E Primary School extend a warm welcome to our school website, as well as our thanks to you for visiting us. Here you will find lots of information about our school, but we would also encourage you visit in person to experience the school’s unique character and environment.

Bedfield C of E Primary School is a small village school, situated in a beautiful rural location in the heart of Suffolk. We are proud of the nurturing environment we foster for pupils, underpinned by Christian vision based on the parable of The Mustard Seed. Sowing, Growing and Knowing is the epitome of our approach towards teaching and learning. Our curriculum is broad, ambitious and varied, aiming to secure, grow and develop the vital knowledge and core skills children need at each stage of their primary education. Our curriculum offer is also designed to engage, excite, challenge and inspire our pupils and prepare them for their future lives in the modern world, as forward thinkers and resilient individuals. We consistently aim for high standards, whilst offering every opportunity for children to develop academically, socially and morally. If you have faith the size of a mustard seed... nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20-21).

It is important to us that our children are happy, feel confident and enjoy their learning. The scale of our school means that we can offer bespoke pastoral care, prioritising children’s emotional wellbeing and physical health, hand in hand with academic progress. In this regard, we feel working closely with our parents and carers is key to ensuring that children in our school receive the best outcomes possible in learning and personal development. Our approach is inclusive. We believe in working in close partnership with all members of the school community to promote and achieve the best possible outcomes for the children.

The school became part of the St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Multi Academy Trust in November 2021 and has since benefited from a wider working network of support.

To arrange a visit to our school, please contact Business Manager Carly Holland to make an appointment. I will be delighted to give you a tour and provide further information.
