Safeguarding and Child Protection
At our school child protection is given the highest priority by all staff and governors. We recognise that it is everyone’s responsibility to keep children safe. We therefore ensure that the following is in place:
· Training- all staff receive appropriate Safeguarding training which is regularly updated
· Ensuring a safe learning environment
· Knowing the signs of abuse and what to look for
· Making referrals to Customer First
· Identifying children in need of extra help or at risk of significant harm
· Being aware of the schools’ safeguarding procedures

The school has a Senior Designated Professional, Mrs Holland, to whom all Child Protection issues are referred. We take our responsibility for the care and safety of the children in Bedfield very seriously and will report any concerns to the appropriate authority. There are strict protocols to be observed and staff and Governors regularly update their training. Every adult who comes in to school on a regular basis is asked to read and sign our Volunteer Policy and will be required to have had a DBS check.
The Headteacher or other senior members of staff are ALWAYS available to talk to concerned parents
